Our client is a independent specialist finance provider offering a wide range of flexible residential and commercial bridging loans. Due to strong growth, they are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join their vibrant team as an Underwriter. In this role, you will work closely with Lending Managers to provide them with accurate information and support in underwriting and management of deals with brokers and clients. You will be required to support the underwriting process by ensuring high-quality loan applications and suitable volumes of new underwriting cases efficiently to a high standard.    Some of the main responsibilities :
  • Management of personal pipeline of loans for underwriting, within SLA's
  • Assess and review detailed legal documentation & valuation reports
  • KYC, AML and all other vital loan/borrower checks
  • Undertake key checks, such as land registry or credit checks where required
  • Presentations to Line Manager in respect of property loans for funding
  • Assessment & underwriting of loan applications in line with credit risk policy
  • Active assessments of all risks across the full end to end of the property cycle
  • Actively identify any fraud cases and protect the business at all times
  • Ongoing point of contact for brokers and internal team
  • Communicate with external stakeholders to the loan funding process
  • Update the company CRM where required
  • Any other duties delegated by your line manager.
  A successful candidate will have a number of years’ experience in the residential and/or commercial bridging underwriting space, Be proficient in evaluating legal documentation and valuation reports. Have strong knowledge of KYC, AML, and other loan-related checks along with a sound understanding of credit risk policies and principles. A background in Bridging underwriting is essential.
