Matchtech are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with specialized knowledge of rail lineside civils to provide technical leadership and ensure the delivery of a compliant and effective programme. The Senior Engineer will join a project team and contribute to a large-scale infrastructure project in the rail industry. The role is a long term contract position which has been deemed inside IR35. The role will be based in Manchester but will have a hybrid option. The successful candidate will also need to work on site as and when required.
Role Overview: As a Senior Engineer, you will play a critical role in assisting the construction team by offering technical guidance and leadership to the engineering team. You will be pivotal in mentoring and developing engineers and apprentices, as well as ensuring engineering activities adhere to project requirements and standards.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement a mentoring and development plan for assigned engineers and apprentices.

  • Oversee engineering activities on allocated projects, including participation in design reviews.

  • Support project teams in planning engineering resources and reviewing work package plans, task briefs, and risk assessments.

  • Provide on-site support to project teams as required.

  • Collaborate with other disciplines to create integrated plans that ensure the successful delivery of the programme.


Required Qualifications:


  • Engineering qualification.

  • PTS/Sentinel Card.

  • CSCS certification preferred (not essential).
