The Role:

Time Recruitment is managing this exciting opportunity for an experienced Costs Draughtsman to join a well-established and growing legal team. In this role, you will support fee earners and solicitors by preparing costs schedules and ensuring efficient cost recovery upon the successful resolution of Housing Disrepair Claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaising with fee earners and solicitors regarding costs on concluded cases
  • Drafting legal costs for court hearings relating to Statutory Nuisance claims under the Environmental Protection Act 1990
  • Drafting and negotiating legal costs for Housing Disrepair and associated Breach of Contract claims
  • Supervising junior costs paralegals who provide support to the in-house Costs Team
  • Assisting with the enforcement of payment of legal costs and/or damages (advantageous but not essential)
  • Carrying out additional duties as required to support the smooth running of the business
The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years' legal costs drafting experience
  • IT literate with the ability to work at pace while maintaining accuracy
  • Experience with costs management software (Costs Master preferred)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
