Head of Engineering with current hands on full stack development experience and strong team leadership skills is sought on a hybrid basis by a high growth PaaS scale up based in Manchester.

With over five years of growth this organisation have revolutionized data insights accessibility for their international retail and e-commerce clients resulting in global growth.

As the team adds additional platform functionality this Head of Engineering will work closely with the Head of Data and Product on developing a robust yet flexible technical roadmap whilst driving best practice, workflow management and an autonomous, entrepreneurial culture across the engineering team.

This role would suit a Lead Developer with team leadership skills looking to step up or an existing hands on Head of Engineering who is looking for more autonomy and really exciting greenfield project work.

This Head of Engineering based near Manchester should have most of the following key skills:

  • Recent full stack development experience (ideally with PHP & Python skills but polyglot engineers also welcome)
  • Experience building and supporting web applications in AWS
  • Cloud native architecture experience
  • Solid pipeline automation skills (CI/CD)
  • Experience leading TDD, automated engineering teams
  • Proven team leadership skills
  • Ability to shape a technical strategy
  • Experience of data pipelines/ ETL processes/ data platforms/ data import processes would be a real plus
