Do you have a background in hospitality/convenience retail and want to progress your career in a different environment? I am working with a fast growing business which works within the food redistribution sector making a different to thousands of local lives locally. They are looking for an experienced manager with a strong background in a busy hospitality background to lead the Manchester operation in this hands on and fast paced role.

The role will involve driving growth and improvement in all areas of the service, externally working with community partners and members and internally managing the team and processes to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations.

A lot of this role will be focussed on implementing standards and ensuring they are maintained across operations. A well organised, self-starting individual would relish this opportunity. You should have a positive attitude and be keen to bring new ideas to the business and strive to continually improve and develop the region.

You’ll be the kind of leader who is resilient, always ready to get stuck in and work alongside your team, keeping them motivated, engaged, and pulling together as one.

You will be able to work flexibly - able to cover regional opening hours on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. (The operating hours are Monday to Saturday 7am to 6pm)

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Manage the delivery of services in your region, establishing relationships with community partners, suppliers and stakeholders and building and embedding relationships with them.
  • Keeping the senior team informed of performance in your area and ensuring standards are maintained consistently.
  • Guarantee the reliable delivery of healthy food to our members
  • Ensure smooth running of the warehouse
  • Effective management of resources
  • Carry out effective team and volunteer recruitment, induction, training, and management
  • Effective management of the regional facilities and fleet
  • Manage the compliance requirements including Food Safety and Health & Safety
  • Effective and motivating performance management of staff

Skills and Experience

We’re looking for:

  • Hospitality or food retail management experience - we are keen that any applicant can work in a fast paced dynamic environment and remain professional at all times.
  • Experience in leading and developing lean successful teams.
  • Experience in improving business performance, reporting and forecasting.
  • Entrepreneurship and ownership with the ability to think creatively and make good operationally sound decisions as a result.
  • Experience of successfully implementing change within an organisation
  • Project Management experience
  • Demonstrable experience in successfully managing conflicting priorities
  • Ability to react quickly and positively to changing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a positive can-do attitude
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Political Awareness
  • Full manual driving licence
  • Ability to travel across the UK including overnight stays

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
