About the clientThe Management Recruitment Group is seeking an Interim Head of Health and Safety for a large public sector organisation in Greater Manchester.

Accountabilities• Lead on this organisations health and safety strategy• Working within this organisations estates team you will play a pivotal role in leading on all aspects of corporate health and safety as well as technical health and safety including facilities, maintenance, minor and major works and construction projects• Provide leadership for specialist areas of health and safety including M&E and engineering• Ensure this organisation is operating in accordance with health and safety legislation• Provide advice to section heads on all aspects of health and safety• Operational responsibility for H&S Manager’s, H&S Officer’s and fire safety• Ensure H&S and fire risk assessments are up to date and in alignment with statutory and regulatory requirements• Ensure all aspects of H&S across this organisation meets regulatory requirements

Candidate Requirements• CMIOSH or equivalent• Proven experience operating at Head of Service level• Public sector or client-side experience (i.e. NHS, education, local gov, central government, consultancy)• Able to start at short notice• Willing to travel to site as required• Proven experience in a similar role• Proven experience matching this positions accountabilities
