Job Title: Large Loss Fee Earner/ Solicitor

Salary: £50,000+ per annum

Location: Hybrid working (1 day a week in the office for team collaboration; 4 days from home, depending on business requirements)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm

About the Client: We are working on behalf of a prominent client within the financial services and motor insurance sector, who is looking to recruit a highly skilled and experienced Fee Earner. Role Overview: You will manage a portfolio of complex and catastrophic personal injury claims, guiding them through to settlement while ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will span the full lifecycle of the claims process, from initial assessment through to settlement, while liaising closely with key stakeholders such as reinsurers, panel solicitors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage a range of large and complex catastrophic personal injury claims from inception to conclusion.

- Ensure comprehensive understanding and application of relevant legislation, including the Civil Procedure Rules, Personal Injury Pre-Action Protocol, Rehabilitation Code, the Road Traffic Act, and the responsibilities of RTA/ART75 insurers.

- Work closely with the Head of Large Loss to ensure appropriate reserving of claims, reflecting the expected damages and costs.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, panel solicitors, and other key stakeholders involved in the claims process.

- Authorise and process payments in line with your designated authority levels.

- Ensure that all allocated claims are accurately reserved, reviewed, and progressed in line with company guidelines, SLAs, and KPIs.

- Identify and investigate potential fraudulent claims, taking appropriate action in accordance with company policy.

- Manage litigated cases following correct procedural requirements.

- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff as needed.

- Assist in the delivery of business objectives and claims income targets.

- Deputise for colleagues during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of workload.

- Continuously enhance your technical knowledge to stay up to date with developments in the claims sector.

- Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and best practices across the organisation.

Experience & Knowledge:

- Extensive experience in managing motor claims at a senior level within the financial services or motor insurance sectors.

- Proven track record in handling large loss personal injury claims, particularly those exceeding £500,000, and catastrophic reinsurance claims exceeding £1,000,000.

- In-depth knowledge of motor claims processes, including personal injury, reinsurance, and relevant legislation.

- Solid understanding of FCA regulations, including Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, and the broader regulatory environment for claims.

- A strong grasp of the Civil Procedure Rules, Personal Injury Pre-Action Protocol, Rehabilitation Code, and the Road Traffic Act.
