My client is a leading contractor working on a major Water Framework in the North West, delivering essential infrastructure and solutions for water networks. As they continue to grow their project delivery team, they are seeking a skilled Freelance MEICA Engineer to join the team for ongoing projects in this critical sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) engineering support across water treatment and distribution projects.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of MEICA systems in line with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensure that all engineering work complies with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to ensure the efficient delivery of projects.
  • Conduct site assessments, troubleshooting, and fault-finding on MEICA systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, method statements, risk assessments, and other documentation as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a MEICA Engineer, ideally in the water industry.
  • Strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation systems.
  • Experience working within the UK water sector, particularly on water frameworks or large-scale water treatment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., WRc, ISO, British Standards).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication and team-working skills.
  • Valid CSCS card (preferred) and relevant H&S certifications (e.g., IOSH, SSSTS).
