The successful candidate will inspire, motivate, and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering high-quality lessons that foster curiosity and academic excellence in all areas of science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated science lessons that cater to a range of learning abilities.
  • Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in accordance with the national curriculum.
  • Promote curiosity and critical thinking through practical experiments and theoretical lessons.
  • Monitor and track student progress, identifying and addressing gaps in knowledge.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and the development of innovative teaching resources.
  • Create an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Manage classroom behavior in line with the school’s policies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Act as a positive role model, upholding the school’s values and ethos.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar).
  • Proven experience teaching science at Key Stages 3 and 4. (NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply.)
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach engaging lessons.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
