Principal Civil Strutural Engineer

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Principal Civil & Structural Engineer with a background in the nuclear sector to be engaged on a permanent basis; the role offers flexible hybrid working with a base in the North West ideally, either West Cumbria or Manchester.
The role is to join an existing well established civil/structural team and to be responsible for the delivery of complex design packages for key nuclear clients.
This is a senior/lead level role on projects and the individual must be able to demonstrate strong capabilities in becoming a civil / structural lead that can contribute to multi-disciplinary design delivery, with minimal oversight.

• Ability to manage and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities. Self-motivated and able to work both freely as well as within a larger multi-discipline team.
• Excellent team player, able to collaborate effectively with market colleagues, other wider-business colleagues, and the management team.
• You should have experience and a level of expertise in engineering design and substantiation, including first principles analysis, with a good knowledge of UK and International design codes and industry regulations. A preference would be to have previous experience in the nuclear sector, although this is not a requirement.
• Candidates to be an Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartership with a recognised institution such as The Institution of Civil Engineers and / or The Institution of Structural Engineers and hold a minimum engineering degree qualification (accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers, or other recognised body).
