Role: HR Advisor (Energy / Utilities)

Summary: Out client, a leading utilities company, is looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their growing team of 3. Working closely with the HR Manager, you’ll provide a proactive and effective HR service across all departments covering all generalist HR duties.This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a varied HR workload. Key responsibilities:
- Provide advice on employment matters and assist with day-to-day HR issues.
- Support payroll, benefits administration, and absence-related deductions.
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, inductions, and probation reviews.
- Oversee absence management, including return-to-work meetings/sickness monitoring
- Assist with recruitment - liaising with agencies, advertising roles, reviewing applications
- Support employee relations - disciplinary, grievances, performance management
- Ensure compliance with policies, employment law, and contribute to policy updates
- Handle HR queries, support projects, and deputise for the HR Manager as needed.
Skills and experience required:
- Level 3 CIPD qualification or above
- HR experience within the energy or utilities sector would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive, confident, and able to work effectively in a team.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills. .
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Flexible and willing to travel to sites across the UK.
