Contract role - IBMIIB & ACE Middleware Technical Support/Z Message Broker - Yorkshire/Hybrid - 12 months initial contract

Gibbs Consulting is seeking a skilled IBM IIB & ACE Middleware Technical Support/Z Message Broker to join its team to deliver work for an established Integration Bus team in the Yorkshire area. This role involves providing advanced technical support for systems and processes within IBM APP Connect Enterprise (IBM ACE) / IBM Integration Bus (IIB) / WebSphere Message Broker environments on z/Linux / z Linux. The successful candidate will work closely with the Gibbs Technical Lead and key stakeholders to implement and drive the technology roadmap, while also collaborating with wider Middleware teams to develop, implement and promote process improvements.

Position Details:

  • Job Title: IBMIIB & ACE Middleware Technical Support/Z Message Broker
  • Contract Duration: 12 months initially
  • Location: Yorkshire / Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)
  • Industry: Banking

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive experience with Integration Bus (IIB) v10 or APP Connect Enterprise (IBM ACE) v12 administration
  • Strong familiarity with IBM WebSphere Message Queue (v9.x) administration
  • Solid expertise in Linux or z/Linux OS systems: Redhat satellite, Z Linux OS, OCP on Z, ZOS storage for Z Linux, Z Linux on x86.
  • Proficiency in SQL - DB2/ Datacom/ SQL DML or Oracle
  • Previous experience in the Banking/Financial Services sector (highly preferred)
  • Willingness to work outside regular office hours when necessary to minimise disruption to business operations.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with automation: GDPS, Netviewer, REXX or scripting tools such as Unix Shell Scripting, Ansible, Assembler, Python or UrbanCode Deploy
  • Strong diagnostic abilities, with the skill to analyse technical data from multiple sources to deliver effective solutions in complex environments
  • Knowledge of deployment pipelines and workflow management
  • Any experience with z VM/ z/VM infrastructure setup, configuration and support or z/Network management would be a plus.
