Stores / FLT Driver

My client in the Swinton area of Manchester are looking for an experienced Stores / FLT Operative.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and will be responsible for supporting the engineering production team by allocating consumables and materials, and being responsible for goods in, Stock Taking and Organization of Stores.

Person Specification

3 Years + experience in a similar role in Engineering
Proactive with excellent organizational skills and a positive approach to continuous improvements
Clean driving license
FLT License
Knowledge of engineering and welding consumables would be an advantage
Excellent teamworking and communication skills
Self-motivated with a hands-on approach and reliable
Excellent housekeeping skills in line with 5S requirements
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Excel

Key Responsibilities

Checking Stock of materials and organise all existing stock.
Moving materials from each manufacturing process with all relevant information
Assembly kits packing and organising of Fabrication and machining jobs
Weekly Stock Counts in Stores on a variety of engineering products/ consumables.
Stock control and management to agreed limits
Liaising with production to ensure jobs are organised into set areas.
Final inspections of products prior to despatch
Packing, palletising and shrink wrapping of finished goods ready for despatch
Collation and organisation of paperwork for vending machine, despatch and from suppliers
Offloading and loading of deliveries from supplier/to customers on FLT
Liaise and communicate with functional areas including production, finance etc
Carry out FLT weekly checklist
Make recommendations for improving stores function
Carrying out deliveries to cover holidays/busy times
Adherence to all Health & Safety guidelines
Inspection on Quality of Fabricated and machined products
Keen Eye for Detail
Measuring Equipment Knowledgede)
