DCT Recruitment is seeking an experienced Associate Director. Our client is a forward-thinking and dynamic planning consultancy. They are committed to innovation, excellence, and growth. As part of the strategic expansion, they are setting up a new office in Manchester to better serve our clients and stakeholders in the region.Job Overview:The Associate Director (Planning) (Non-Executive) will play a crucial role in the establishment of our new office in Manchester. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategic planning, operational setup, and stakeholder management. The Associate Director will provide guidance and oversight to ensure the successful launch and operational effectiveness of the new office. MUST HAVE TOWN PLANING EXPERIENCE.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning:• Develop a comprehensive plan for the establishment of the new office, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.• Identity and assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.Operational Setup:• Oversee the selection and fit-out of office premises, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.• Coordinate with TI and facilities teams to ensure the office is equipped with necessary technology and infrastructure.Stakeholder Management:• Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for the new office setup.• Represent the company at local events and build relationships with local business communities and networks.Compliance and Governance:• Ensure al operations comply with local laws, regulations, and company policies.• Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors on progress, challenges, and opportunities.Recruitment and Team Building:• Assist in the recruitment and on boarding of key personnel for the new office.• Foster a positive and collaborative office culture that aligns with the company's values and mission.Performance Monitoring:• Establish key performance indicators (KPls) to measure the success of the new office.• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to continuously improve operations and performance.Qualifications:•Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably with experience in setting up new offices or operational units.•Strong strategic planning and project management skills.•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.•Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.•In-depth knowledge of the local business environment in Manchester.•Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.•Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.•You must be able to deal with planning enquiries and deliver the full range of planning and development services to clients.•The role will include all stages of planning work, from the preparation and submission of fee proposals, initial appraisals, to the preparation and submission of applications (of al types), planning appeals and planning inquiries, to include dealing with planning enquiries and/or planning policy advice.Preferred Qualifications:• MRTPI• Previous experience in a non-executive role.What We Offer:• Competitive remuneration package (£60K +car allowance) • Opportunity to play a pivotal role in a significant company expansion• Flexible working arrangements• Supportive and inclusive work environment.To apply, please send your CV to or call on .
