- First line oversight of defending an active clinical / medical malpractice caseload from start to finish (from pre to post action)
- Claims adjusting and handling
- Stakeholder management including externally engaged consultants including surgeons and other medical practitioners, our senior management team, our insurer, external law firms and counsel engagement (including selection, brief preparation, and some potential court attendance)
- Responding to and managing negotiations and ongoing case management with claimant law firms
- Providing bespoke, expert clinical negligence legal advice including evidence gathering, liaison with medical experts and negotiating settlements
- Keeping up to date with changes in personal injury law, vicarious liability and costs regime change
