Immigration Solicitor/Caseworker – Legal Aid Specialist Role Douglas Scott is working exclusively with a highly regarded law firm based in Manchester who are seeking an Accredited Solicitor or Caseworker to join their Immigration and Asylum Law Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a newly established team focused on legal aid funded matters, following the firm’s successful acquisition of a Legal Aid Contract. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage legal aid files within Immigration and Asylum law.
  • Collaborate with the department head and Senior Caseworkers.
  • Handle a range of legal aid Immigration cases and assist with privately funded matters as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 2 Accreditation (Law Society or OISC).
  • Prior experience working on legal aid files is essential.
  • Strong understanding of Immigration laws, rules, and procedures.
  • Excellent command of English (knowledge of another language is advantageous).
  • Solicitors must hold a clean record and valid Practising Certificate.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and support vulnerable clients.
