The Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? We are looking for an Employment Support Mentor who will support ex-offenders to reintegrate with the community. This rewarding role involves providing hands-on support to participants, helping them engage in life-changing programmes that open doors to employment, training, and education.
Duties:
- Be the welcoming face of the hub, assisting participants with access and use of facilities.
- Provide hands-on support, resolving participant queries and ensuring a positive experience.
- Manage office administration, including post, room bookings, diary management, and paperwork processing.
- Assist the Hub Manager and Team Lead with key projects, including certification tracking and completion.
- Maintain accurate records of participant referrals and interactions using relevant systems.
- Oversee financial processes, including petty cash, participant payments, vouchers, and invoice management.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, participants, and external organisations to enhance programme impact.
- Monitor workshops, ensuring feedback is gathered and improvements are implemented.
Required Skills:
- Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment, training, or education is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable attitude.
- Excellent organisational and IT skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with a willingness to work occasional unsociable hours.
- Ability to meet challenging targets in a performance-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively support and engage with participants.
- Eagerness to learn and undertake relevant training as needed.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
