Pastoral Tutor37 per week, term time Manchester City Centreup to £26,000Reed Further Education are recruiting Support Tutors in Manchester, to work with learners to ensure their academic progress and personal development during their studies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete inductions for students to the organisation, to ensure they are on the correct programme and receive the appropriate level of support
  • Support learners with academic/personal progress and review against targets on an individual basis
  • Deliver high quality, engaging training to encourage learners to attend, stay on programme and achieve
  • Where appropriate, prepare learners to successfully undertake assignments or sit tests/exams in order to maintain high success rates.
  • Mark/assess learners' work, provide structured feedback and set development objectives
  • Meet with relevant managers and staff to discuss pastoral issues affecting any learners giving concern and, where necessary, to refer learners to more specialist services

Requirements:

  • UK recognised teaching qualification
  • Expertise in working with special needs, learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and challenging behaviour
  • Experience working within a pastoral role, working with learners progress & achivement

Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by undergoing a 2 year’ employment check and a DBS Application, completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
