Role Overview:We are looking for a dedicated Paralegal to join our Employer's Liability / Public Liability (EL/PL) team based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about personal injury law, specifically focusing on EL/PL claims. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in legal practice, with the ability to provide high-quality support to solicitors and clients alike in this fast-paced area of law. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management of EL/PL claims from inception through to resolution
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence
  • Conduct legal research and gather evidence to support claims
  • Liaise with clients, insurers, and third-party experts to obtain relevant information
  • Manage case files, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained and deadlines are met
  • Review medical records, accident reports, and other relevant documentation
  • Prepare and attend client meetings, offering proactive assistance in case progression
  • Assist solicitors with negotiating settlements and preparing for hearings
  • Provide general administrative support to the team, including filing and organizing documentation

Key Skills & Experience:

  • A law degree (or equivalent) or a relevant legal qualification
  • Previous experience or strong interest in personal injury law, particularly Employer's Liability and Public Liability claims (desirable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and work well under pressure
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrates a client-focused approach and empathy in handling sensitive matters
