Freelance Site Manager

Unite People are working with a specialist constructioncontractor to hire a Site Manager,to oversee a thirty week project starting in Manchester.

You will be responsible for the site setup, demolition of existing structures, remediation, groundworks and build of a commercial project.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all demo, remediation, groundworks, slabs and steel erection activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project spec and timelines.

The role is ideal for an experience Site Manager based in the North West of the UK, with experience of managing steel frame builds from groundworks and piling stages.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement detailed earthworks plans in coordination with project requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful completion.
• Supervise and lead a team of machine ops, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety standards.
• Provide training and support to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.

• Health and Safety Compliance

• Resource Management: Manage labour, plant and materials delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Groundworks Site Manager, particularly deliveringroads and sewers for commercial or residential developments.
• CSCS Card
• SMSTS
• First Aid
• Strong knowledge of earthworks and remediation processes, techniques, and materials.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
