Production Manager

Night Shift: 10pm-6am, Monday-FridayLocation: Wythenshawe, Manchester Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 + 31 Days Holiday 

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead and manage our night shift production team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a critical operational area, ensuring smooth, efficient production while driving continuous improvement and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competently operate and have a safe working knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure all written and online documentation is completed accurately and on time, following company policies.
  • Lead the production team by adhering to internal HR processes, maximizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Plan and manage both Extons and agency rotas to ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Develop strong relationships with department leads to improve cross-team communication and provide excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate closely with the planning department to execute production plans in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Attend and contribute to production and shift meetings, ensuring clear communication of updates and requirements.
  • Communicate new company procedures to production operatives effectively and ensure compliance.
  • Actively promote good working practices among your line staff and maintain a positive work culture.
  • Complete all required training in leadership skills through online and in-person sessions.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks and training via BambooHR or Highspeed.
  • Manage holiday requests and absence processes according to company policies, ensuring accurate record-keeping and payroll support.
  • Lead your team fairly and consistently, holding regular team meetings and providing constructive feedback.
  • Conduct 1:1s with team members, setting SMART objectives and offering support to help them reach their potential.
  • Act as a role model in behaviour, communication, and leadership, inspiring your team to improve and excel.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Strong knowledge and safe working competence with production machinery and equipment.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate, challenge, and support your team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in time management, prioritization, and use of tools like BambooHR.
  • Positive attitude and ability to foster a supportive, engaging work environment.
