I am working on an exciting opportunity with a global manufacturer based in Greater Manchester. The business is looking to bring in an experienced Operations Manager to the site. This role will report directly to the Site Executive Officer and involves full responsibility for the full production & engineering teams at a manufacturer.

Role Description

  • Drive Operational Excellence and Quality
  • Lead and mentor Shift Team Leaders and the wider diverse team. With strong proven leadership and team management skills honed through your experience
  • Being a people champion, fostering a collaborative approach; working with all departments to promote an engaging culture
  • Originate and manage KPI's to ensure alignment with the business objectives whilst ensuring production goals are met and exceeded
  • Develop and implement process enhancements to improve workflows and reduce costs
  • Establish and maintain a Quality 'Right First-Time' culture
  • Overseeing resource planning, budgeting and forecasting for the Production Department
  • Defining Capital Expenditure projects within the 3-year planning process
  • Promote a safe and collaborative work environment whilst addressing potential risks proactively

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 Years manufacturing experience within a leadership role
  • Track record of successfully managing and developing teams and individuals
  • Highly experienced with FMCG manufacturing such as food, packaging, plastics, textiles
  • Strong communication skills
  • Critical thinking and strategy
  • Skillset with lean management, H&S and team development
