Production Technical Shift Manager (Nights)

Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a Production technical shift manager for a large manufacturing company based in Middleton. This is a permanent position on nights and the ideal candidate will have experience working quality and performance driven role.

The role requires effective teamwork, clear communication skills, practical problem solving skills, initiative, intelligent judgment and an over-riding focus on our people and the quality of product our client manufactures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Main duties will include technical line management, production targets, staff management & health & safety.
  • Take on team development to drive optimal performance & promote continuous improvement.
  • Ensure we maintain a clear standard way of setup & operating across all lines and all shifts.
  • Ensure yourself and all operators are proficient in the use of all systems used.
  • Work alongside all the production teams to achieve the production manufacturing target, continually striving to exceed target and increase output whilst maintaining quality.
  • Provide direction and support to the production team, managing and facilitating training requirements in line with performance and development.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement within the department, encourage upskilling of staff and proactivity raise performance issues to Shift Manager.
  • Actively promote the importance of Health and Safety, ensuring all company HSE procedures are adhered to without exception.

Skills & experience you will need:

  • Technical Skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in a quality focused and performance driven factory environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and effective team player
  • Excellent organisation skills - organized in your approach which will enable you to manage and prioritise your workload under pressure.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have practical problem-solving skills
  • Have willingness to learn and develop both self and others
  • Health & Safety awareness within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and good customer focus.
  • Good work ethic is essential, as is reliability and commitment to the company.

Mar-Aug Shift: 8pm-6am Mon-Thurs (38 hours)

Sept-Feb Shift: 8pm-6am Mon-Thurs, 8pm-4am Fri (45.5 hours)
