Job Summary:
The Technical Manager will be responsible for managing the entire site technical function and working closely with the group technical team to ensure that all products meet or exceed industry and customer quality standards. This role involves leading the Hygiene and Quality departments, overseeing all aspects of food safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance. The Technical Manager will also play a critical role in external audits, including BRC and major retailer audits, as well as providing strategic input as a key member of the HACCP team and senior leadership group.
Key Responsibilities:
-Site Technical Leadership: Oversee the technical function for the entire site, working closely with the group technical team to drive quality, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
-Hygiene and Quality Management: Manage and guide the Hygiene and Quality departments to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
-Audit Management: Lead all external audits, including BRC and major retailer audits, ensuring audit readiness, compliance, and successful outcomes.
-HACCP and Food Safety Compliance: Serve as a key member of the HACCP team, developing, implementing, and maintaining HACCP plans and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
-Strategic Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with food safety, quality, and company goals, ensuring products meet all customer requirements and industry standards.
-Leadership and Team Development: Lead daily team meetings, mentor and develop the technical, hygiene, and quality teams, and actively participate in senior leadership meetings.
-Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings within the technical, hygiene, and quality functions.
Key Requirements:
-Experience: Proven experience in a Technical Manager role or similar leadership position within the food and drink manufacturing industry.
-Audit Expertise: Strong background in leading BRC and major retailer audits, with a track record of compliance and successful audit outcomes.
-Food Safety Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of HACCP principles, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
-Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing, developing, and motivating teams, with the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration.
-Educational Background: Degree in a related field such as Food Science, Microbiology, or a similar discipline.
Salary: 60,000 - 70,000 (Dependent on Experience)
