Our client, a leading laboratory facility, is currently seeking a Supervisory Laboratory Aide to join their team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering high-quality support services across multiple laboratory areas.

Responsibilities:

Process glassware and plastics using industrial washing machines.Collect dirty glassware from laboratories and return it to Lab Services.Operate and perform primary maintenance on equipment within the service area (e.g., autoclaves, drying ovens, industrial washing machines).Provide glassware, plastics, sterile water, and solutions as requested.Ensure daily stocking of laboratory areas with necessary supplies.Act as the primary point of contact for lab staff.Assist in the production and sterilisation of media and agar plates.Utilise online ordering software to maintain supplies and service contracts.Support engineers within Lab Services as needed.Foster clear communication between the Lab Services team and lab groups site-wide.Train other staff members as required.Assist with laboratory health and safety protocols.Maintain equipment and supplies.Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the group.Assist with general laboratory administration.Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and/or customers.Deputise for the Lab Services Manager when necessary, including attending internal meetings and managing staff rotas.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a laboratory support role.Ability to handle industrial equipment and transport heavy loads.Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in using online ordering software.Working knowledge of laboratory health and safety practises.Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.Strong problem-solving skills.Flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
