Head of Operational Risk & Resilience

Role Overview & PurposeWe are seeking an experienced Operational Risk & Resilience leader to join our team. This is a key role that will influence operational strategy, enhance organisational resilience, and ensure our third-party partners continue to meet high standards.

You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across our operations, while developing strong frameworks and controls to safeguard business continuity. The role also involves leading third-party risk management and driving the delivery of our operational resilience strategy.

Alongside the base salary, the financial benefits also include a bonus up to 30% plus circa £13,000 profit share.

Role responsibilities.

Operational Risk

  • Design and implement a robust operational risk management and control framework.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor both potential and actualised operational risks across the UK Personal Investor platform.
  • Analyse risk data and provide insights and trend reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure control effectiveness.
  • Lead the delivery of training and awareness initiatives to build a risk-aware culture.
  • Coordinate Operational Risk input into RCSAs (Risk & Control Self-Assessments) and ICARAs (Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessments).

Third-Party Risk

  • Manage operational relationships with third-party vendors to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
  • Maintain internal control frameworks covering performance, cost, risk, and governance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align vendor management with regulatory and enterprise standards.
  • Support regulatory documentation and audits related to third-party operations.
  • Develop vendor performance dashboards and executive-level reporting.
  • Coordinate and execute third-party risk assessments, resolving identified gaps.

Operational Resilience

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies that strengthen operational resilience.
  • Identify critical services/processes and evaluate their exposure to disruption.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT and other teams to establish robust contingency plans.
  • Monitor resilience performance and report against key resilience metrics.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Proven experience in operational risk, vendor management, and/or resilience within financial services or a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and operational best practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience translating risk data into actionable insights.
  • Experience leading risk assessments, implementing frameworks, and building cross-functional resilience strategies.
