- Contract Duration: Ongoing
- Schedule: Full-time (Weekdays and Weekends)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Hourly Rate: £32
In this vital role, you will provide essential mental health care to individuals within the prison system. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Initial Assessments: Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for new inmates to identify their needs and risks.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Providing individual and group therapy sessions to support inmates in managing their mental health conditions.
- Medication Management: Administering prescribed medications and monitoring their effects, ensuring adherence to treatment plans.
- Crisis Intervention: Responding to acute mental health crises, implementing de-escalation techniques, and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
- Collaboration: Working closely with prison staff and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support for inmates.
- NMC Registration as a mental health nurse (RMN).
- Proven experience in mental health care, preferably in a challenging environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to individuals in a prison setting.
