Manchester City Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team for 28 Hours a week. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.
Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.
- This is for an OT post in our rehousing team at Manchester City Council. We are looking for an OT with housing adaptations experience who can assess people in their own home for adaptations. - 28 hours
- Work will also consist of matching applicants to available adapted homes and undertaking viewings to homes with these applicants.
- This will require travel across Manchester (occasionally GM) on a minimum of 3 days a week.
- The role holder will ensure that through effective advice, planning and support and the utilisation of 'joined up' approaches, individuals are able to access housing that meets their needs.
- The role holder will work to provide direct support for individuals and families in accordance effectively identifying cases and/or managing a caseload in order to secure positive housing outcomes for Manchester residents.
- Effectively manage and be accountable for a caseload of cases through advice and guidance to improve outcomes for individuals and associated parties through positive rehousing outcomes.
- The role holder will visit customers, both children and adults, at home to carry out medical assessments for priority for moving and to complete reports. To give high quality advice on the rehousing options available. To manage and find solutions for complex cases.
To Be Successful.
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
- The candidate must have experience in training carers/families
- Experienced Adult Social Care OT required with minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Must have accredited manual handling training and experience of undertaking risk assessments and training.
- Must be used to slings, hoist, plans and training family members.
- Must be able to hit the ground running and doesn't need upskilling.
- Manual handling experience.
- HCPC Registration.
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Occupational Therapist Qualification
- Car driver is essential.
