Pay rate: £21.79

Are you a dedicated Occupational Therapist looking to make a real difference in acute and community settings? If yes, join the OPAL (Older People’s Assessment and Liaison) and Integrated Assessment Team (IAT) at MFT to provide rapid assessment and support for patients within the hospital's acute medical units.

In this role, you will be an integral part of a multi-professional team, delivering specialized therapy interventions to older adults in acute areas, including the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit, and Clinical Decisions Unit. You will conduct advanced assessments, manage your caseload independently, and facilitate early discharges while reducing unnecessary hospital admissions.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide comprehensive therapy assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
  • Work autonomously to manage a diverse caseload and deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.
  • Collaborate with community therapy services to ensure smooth patient transitions and continuity of care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, therapy assistants, and students, ensuring excellence in practice.
  • Participate in service improvement initiatives, audits, and evidence-based projects to enhance patient outcomes.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Current relevant professional registration (HCPC Registration)
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Car driver / owner able to travel to other locations within the trust using own vehicle (mileage paid)
