The Manchester City Council is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Moving and Handling Optimisation Team at a pay rate of £36 per hour.

Candidates must have experience in moving and handling, including conducting risk assessments and providing training to caregivers, with single-handed care experience being desirable.
The OT will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team that includes Physiotherapists, Social Workers, and Assessment Officers.

The focus of the team is to ensure a person is receiving the optimal level of care.Job Roles and Responsibilities: -The OT will have a good understanding of:

Moving and handling techniques
Equipment
Adaptations
Assistive technology to enhance independence and optimise the level of care received.

The role will be sat within the Principal Occupational Therapy Team, and report to the Moving and Handling Optimisation Team Manager (OT). The OT will be working as part of an MDT team with Physiotherapists, OTs, Social Worker and Assessment Officers. Must have experience of moving and handling including undertaking risk assessments, providing training to carers and equipment (e.g. hoists, slings, stand aids).
