Join a dynamic team at a pivotal time for the Council and Greater Manchester's transport network, the 'Bee Network'. As a Transport Policy and Active Travel Officer, you will be instrumental in developing transport policy, strategising, and advancing new projects and initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact the future of transport in the borough, promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly travel options.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Shape and implement transport policies that promote sustainable, efficient, and accessible transport systems.
  • Identify and secure funding for network improvements benefiting all users.
  • Collaborate with local and regional partners to develop and deliver diverse transport projects that align with transport ambitions and support Greater Manchester's targets.
  • Promote these projects and initiatives, integrating them into the daily lives of local communities, businesses, and visitors.
  • Monitor the impact of implemented policies and projects, using insights gained to inform future developments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in transport policy, urban planning, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable transport solutions and active travel initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including local and regional partners.
  • Experience in project management, from conception through to delivery.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and extract actionable insights.
