This position is for a Safety & Compliance Coordinator who will be integral in maintaining high standards of safety and compliance within the retail industry. The role is based in Greater Manchester and the successful candidate will be required to work within the building safety and facilities team.

Description

  • Manage the prequalification and procurement to ensure all the contractors we engage are sufficiently competent.
  • Maintaining a database of approved contractors.
  • Assess contractor risk assessments and method statements on a job-by-job basis. Issue Permits to Work for higher risk tasks.
  • inducting all individual operatives on the Health & Safety and emergency procedures for site.
  • Auditing contractors periodically for the duration of the work to ensure compliance with the agreed working practise.
  • Signing of a Permit to Work on the completion of a job.
  • Manage team training, development and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure that the Kingsway SMS criteria is met and any changes trained out when required.
  • Maintaining statutory compliance database and ensuring all areas of compliance are documented and complete.
  • Manage and maintain completion, documentation and timings of planned preventative maintenance regime.
  • Represent the Building Services team with Health & Safety matters.
  • Manage Health & Safety actions that arise.
  • Support with internal/external H&S audits.
  • Implement best practice and Cl within the Building Services team.

Profile

  • Required: A degree of autonomy and independence for the building services team to avoid any potential risk of a conflict of interest.
  • NEBOSH is required for this position
  • Be sufficiently experienced to assume the responsibility of issuing Permits to Work and to challenge and question contractors on Health and Safety.
  • Flexible Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm for a rotational work pattern
