Technical Services Manager – Critical Site
Location: Manchester
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum

We are seeking a Technical Services Manager to oversee operations at one of our critical sites in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large and dynamic FM company, where you will play a key role in managing the technical team and ensuring smooth, efficient operations on a high-priority, mission-critical site.

As the Technical Services Manager, you will work closely with the Facility Manager to ensure the effective utilization of staff, drive the completion of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks, and manage work orders. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method of Procedures (MOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Facility Manager to ensure efficient utilization of the technical team, optimizing staff deployment.
  • Oversee the completion of PPM tasks and work orders, ensuring compliance with SLAs and operational efficiency.
  • Review, edit, and maintain SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs for site operations, ensuring all procedures are up-to-date and in line with best practices.
  • Manage work order control processes and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
  • Oversee capacity planning, ensuring the correct allocation of resources to meet operational requirements.
  • Produce and analyse operational reports to provide insight and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor the technical team, providing guidance and support to achieve high standards of performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of work order control procedures and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience in capacity planning and reporting for technical teams.
  • Proven experience managing critical site operations or technical services in a facilities management environment.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce and interpret detailed operational reports.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
