We are looking for a talented PR and Communications Manager to join our friendly and fast-paced PR and Communication team, which jointly looks after the firm's sector, practice and corporate communications.

The Manager will work with Fieldfisher's sector and practice teams to identify opportunities to develop and deliver communications programmes focused on achieving strategic objectives. This role will cover both internal and external communications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement PR and communication strategies that align with the firm's business priorities and goals.
  • Work with aligned sectors and practices to deliver their communications objectives aimed at brand and reputation enhancement in the media.
  • Create and distribute content to maximise PR exposure for sector / practice teams and the firm.
  • Draft news releases, case studies op-eds and articles to achieve media coverage in the national, trade and regional media.
  • Build and maintain the firm's relationships with journalists at legal, national and trade titles to ensure our experts have a voice on key issues that matter to our clients and prospects.
  • Set up interviews and coach lawyers on media techniques and how to liaise with the media.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders across the firm to drive strategic media activity and amplify the successes of the business.
  • Work alongside BD colleagues and other key stakeholders to generate creative ideas for campaigns that can drive strategic media activities.
  • Support the Director of BD and Marketing and senior managers to embed best practice and execute high-impact communications.
  • Draft communications for the firm's intranet and other internal channels to publicise the achievements of aligned practices and sectors and, where required, assist with firm-wide communications projects.
  • Provide content for the firm's social media channels to assist with digital marketing efforts.
  • Manage legal directory submissions, in line with the firm's tried and tested directory submission process.
  • Write and submit compelling award submissions and submit data and information for league tables and rankings.
  • Collaborate with communications and marketing colleagues from across Fieldfisher's international network.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in language/literature, journalism, business, marketing, law or related fields.
  • At least five years of PR experience gained as an in-house or agency communications professional.
  • Excellent writing skills, with strong copy/proofing skills and the ability to adapt to different styles and audiences.
  • Experience in developing successful communications and content campaigns.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex issues, comprehend and execute against strategic priorities and remain composed and focused in pressurised environments.
  • Experience working with different media formats including the ability to package dynamic media content including video/broadcast.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to deliver and execute communication programs that address business needs and produce tangible outcomes.
  • Good project manager and familiarity in managing and working with third parties and agencies.
  • Motivated, self-starter able to operate independently, with a profound commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices.
