Day shift – Monday to Thursday 06:45 to 15:15 and Friday 06:45 to 14:15
Quality Inspector required for a well-established and stable heavy engineering company for a day shift position with an early Friday finish. This is a busy, varied and interesting role with tight deadlines.
The role involves ensuring that parts are inspected at goods inwards, in-process, pre-paint and final inspection stages.
The company operates in a heavy engineering sector producing large and heavy components.
The Quality Inspector Role:
* Performing Goods Inwards, Pre-Paint and Final Inspections, working to deadlines.
* Measuring parts in accordance with engineering drawings using various types of measuring equipment, including external micrometers, 3-legged bore micrometers, stick micrometers, depth micrometers, verniers and gauges.
* Completing dimensional reports / inspection drawings.
* Visually inspection of parts for weld spatter, damage, burrs, paint quality, part marking etc.
* Completing inspection sign off documentation.
* Stamping parts, carrying out stencilling and paint touch ups, tapping threaded holes and assembling parts as required.
The Quality Inspector Candidate:
* Experience of quality inspection
* Experience of reading engineering drawings and measuring parts using micrometers
