Project Manager - Properties | Manchester | Up to £50,000 | Hybrid

The Opportunity:

We are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Project Manager from a property, construction, engineering or construction background, who is looking to step up into a Project Manager role.

This role WILL give you the autonomy to take ownership of a portfolio and have a key input to the network within the local area.  

We are working with one of the largest Train Operating companies in the UK who play a vital role in the north of England by connecting tens of thousands of people to work, leisure, education and more every day.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensuring that all local enabling work is planned and coordinated in a timely manner so that the Project moves through various stages construction seamlessly. This role will oversee, guide and support the local team to deliver this enabling work.
• Attending appropriate level management meetings with all involved stakeholders and managing and escalating issues affecting the business.
• Facilitating detailed functional and non-functional requirement gathering including prioritisation. Requirements must be clearly defined and understood by all parties.
• Ensuring that Infrastructure Change projects have a minimal operational disruption during delivery and that in defining requirements that the needs of all key stakeholders are considered
• Following change control mechanisms. Assessing impact against project scope, requirements, budget and timeline and communicate to stakeholders as required.
• Creating a project team based on the scope of current and projected works, manage transition through various stages and providing the impetus needed at the beginning of the project.

Candidate Essentials

• Strong experience within an Assistant Project Manager or a Project Manager role.
• Infrastructure focused background (Rail, Construction, Highways, Nuclear etc).
• Experience in managing 3rd party suppliers.
• Good verbal and written communication including strong ‘Customer Facing’ skills.

Qualifications:

• Safety Qualification – (NEBOSH, IOSH, SMSTS, SSSTS)

Desirable:

• Experience working within the rail industry.
• Project Management Qualifications.
