Our client - a well-established fashion supplier and retailer now has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Import Merchandiser to lead their merchandising team in great offices!

The Role:

  • This role combines strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to optimise the company's global supply chain.
  • Maintain clear and accurate reporting to develop business strategies and meet company KPI’s
  • Act as a gate keeper to oversee the end-to-end import process, from purchase orders to end destination, managing risk proactively
  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the production and critical path for the merchandising team
  • Overseeing weekly critical path meetings with merchandisers and tech teams, providing status updates on each line
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers. Resolve conflicts or issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure adherence to agreed service levels and quality standards
  • Build strong relationships with key clients, including face to face meetingsManage customer orders on key accounts, ensuring all queries are answered and issues are resolved
  • Manage team of two merchandisers and part time admin support
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Identify individual and team training requirements ensuring soft and technical skills are developed fully to maximise productivity
  • Ensure department’s efficient use and development of software, ERP and Power Bi
  • Proactively identify and lead process improvements within the department
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment

Skills Required:

  • Established Import/Wholesale Merchandiser.
  • Motivated, resourceful, problem solve with an ability to make commercial decisions
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge and confidence of Microsoft Office 365 and MS Teams, Advanced Excel - VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, supply chain management software and Power Bi is preferred
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimisation and efficiency
  • Leadership and team-building abilities
  • Must have a flexible approach to work and be highly organised
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
