Key roles and responsibilitiesSupporting merchandising to negotiate cost prices with supplier base to achieve department targetsManage the department critical path, which includes chasing suppliers to adhere to deadlines. Participate in the product CP meetingAttend fit meetings with the buyer and QA and assist in completing buying comments for all samples received, in the Buyers absence chair the meeting.Create wholesale buy sheetsPrepare for weekly trade meetingAnalyzing weekly trade reports for website and wholesale and identifying actionsRegular comp shops to identify new and missed opportunities in the rangeTo actively participate in meetings including sign offs, strategies, weekly trade and ensure follow up is made.Assist the buyer with range building including; style confirmation, colours, and product development for all seasonal rangesAttend key internal and customer meetings alongside the buyer. Complete all meeting minutes for the buyer.Management of BA, assist in training and supporting the departmental BAA where applicable.SkillsRelevant buying experience in the fashion industry to a similar levelGreat communication skills - you will be co ordinating teams such as Merchandising, Design, QC, StudioCommercially aware - how to interpret and adapt market trends to the customer to maximise salesKeen interest in fashion and trendsAbility to work independently to tight deadlines in a fast paced environmentStrong numeracy and analytical skillsDriven with a strong sense of initiative
