Packaging Buyer

Greater Manchester / South Manchester

£40,000 - £50,000 plus excellent benefits

Our client is an awarding winning textiles manufacturer, supplying UK High Street retailers, Major Supermarkets and Online retailers. They now have a fantastic opportunity for a Packaging Buyer to join the business. Operating across 2 sites in North and South Manchester you will become part of an established, dynamic buying team.

Responsibilities include:

Manage all packaging across all departments and products categories. This would include:

Printed poly bags
Non-woven bags
Card inserts and wrap bands
Commodity shippers and cartons
Printed shippers

Work with multiple stakeholders such as purchasing, buying, design and marketing
Gatekeeper for the project management of packaging and design in line with the critical path
Overall lead and responsibility for packaging innovation, value engineering and cost saving.
Control and report on all packaging projects from budgets to barriers for project progression.
Responsible for attending print runs and final gold seal approval to ensure Brand consistency across ranges
Have an understanding of commodities pricing, packaging tax, etc

What will you need?

Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills. Able to prioritise workload across multiple projects to ensure deadlines are met, with an ability to multitask.
First class communication skills, able to work cross functionally and build key relationships across departments.
Laser-like attention to detail. You will have a relentless focus on right first time delivery.
Driving licence requirement to travel between offices in Wilmslow and Middleton.
