I'm currently working with a Cost Consultancy, looking to add an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to their Manchester based team.

Job Description: The firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in quantity surveying within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Support the preparation of tender documents and contract administration.
  • Assist in the measurement and valuation of works for interim and final payments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate cost control.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project-related financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, cost estimating software).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
