About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in house building or main contracting to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring cost-effective delivery while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the quantity surveying function across multiple projects, from tender through to final account.
  • Develop and implement cost control strategies to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, procurement, and risk management processes.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Assess and manage project variations, change orders, and valuations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant construction contracts and regulations.
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors within the team.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Conduct commercial reviews and provide strategic input to optimize project performance.
  • Monitor and manage project cash flow, payments, and financial risk.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, specifically house building or main contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement, and commercial management.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation, financial reporting, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
