Junior Print Room Operative

Location: Deansgate, Manchester M3 4BQ.
Salary: £23,809.00 per annum
Contract: Full Time / Temporary (Maternity Cover – 12 Months).

The Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Print Room Operative to join our team. This is an entry-level position, offering an excellent opportunity to develop a career in the printing industry. As a Junior Print Room Operative, you will assist in the day-to-day operation of the print room, ensuring the efficient production of print materials while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

•  Operating digital print and finishing equipment such as print presses, large format colour plotter, binding machines, laminating machines
•  Scanning of hard copy data to digital format
•  Liaising with customers verbally and via email
•  Packaging and preparing goods for dispatch.
•  Finishing such as gluing, taping, creasing, guillotining
•  Perform operator maintenance on print and finishing equipment.
•  Help maintain a high level of safety, cleanliness and organisation around the workplace.
•  Comply with company H&S, Environmental & Quality procedures.
•  Ad-hoc duties as directed by the Business Manager.

Candidate Requirements

•  A keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
•  Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
•  Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
•  Basic knowledge of print processes and machinery is desirable but not essential.
•  Ability to handle physical work, including lifting materials and standing for extended periods.
•  A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
•  Prior experience in a print or production environment is a plus but not essential.
•  GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
•  Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but full training will be provided.
