We are working with a local authority in Manchester to find a Unit Catering Manager on a temporary basis.Location: Newton Heath, Manchester.Hourly rate: £14.51 per hourJob Type: Full-timeLength of role: Initial 6 monthsWe are looking for an experienced Catering Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our catering unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing a catering environment, with a focus on maintaining high standards of food service and customer satisfaction.Day to Day of the role:-          Allocate duties to and supervise/manage unit catering staff.-          Ensure the availability of menu items in accordance with agreed tariffs and maintain high standards of food delivery and service.-          Complete volume-forecasting records, control purchasing of all goods and supplies, and ensure portion control is maintained.-          Liaise with suppliers to check the freshness and quality of food and control stocks.-          Deliver an efficient hospitality service, including tea, coffee, buffets, and working lunches.-          Ensure the safe handling of cash in accordance with policies and procedures.Required Skills & Qualifications:-          Level 3 food hygiene certificate (or commitment to obtain this within 6 months of appointment).-          Experience in supervising/managing/training staff in a catering environment.-          Knowledge of personal hygiene, food hygiene, and health and safety procedures.-          Experience in a fast food environment is desirable.-          Skills in training staff in cooking procedures and Health and Safety matters.-          Capability to ensure budgetary control is achieved, including monitoring budgets and maximising income potential.If you are interested, or have any questions, please let me know.
