Search Consultancy are delighted to be supporting a prestigious investments business in Manchester to recruit a Graduate Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis.

This is the perfect role for someone who is looking to start their career in finance, with training and development opportunities and a clear progression plan in place.

You will support a portfolio of project companies working alongside other members of the finance team as required.
You will be involved in management accounting, incorporation of purchase ledgers, sales ledgers, cash books and loan schedules. You will manage the maintenance of accruals and prepayments and support the preparation of management accounts including analysis of actual versus budget. You will submit VAT and CIS returns, support the preparation of statutory accounts for the year end audit and liaise with the audit team during their fieldwork.

To be considered for this role you will:


* Demonstrate the ability to work independently and have the enthusiasm to grow and develop a regional finance function
* Have prior experience of working in an accounting environment and/or a have studied the following subjects whilst at University; Economics, Maths, Science, Technology or Finance and will have achieved a 2:1 classification or above
* Be proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements
* Be an Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills to support effective working relationships with the various stakeholders including lenders, shareholders, suppliers, operations and local authorities
* Have excellent analytical skills with intellect to both develop and challenge explanations and arguments
