Our client, based in Manchester is looking for a finance assistant to join their talented and dedicated finance team on an ongoing temporary basis for 3 months+.. The role is 5 days per week and offers predominantly remote working, you are asked to go into their Manchester offices once a week for the whole team to work together collaboratively. The role is paying between £14 - £15 per hour.Â
The purpose of the post is to ensure all rent transactions are posted to the system in a timely and accurate manner and ensure that there is an accurate recording of all transactions. You will also promptly raise sales invoices and take the appropriate follow-up action.
Key responsibilities:
- To update and maintain the system in relation to start, end of tenancy, rent and service charge increases on a weekly basis
- To ensure efficient and effective processing of rent payments received from various payment methods
- To set up and amend direct debits
- To set up sub-accounts and service charge accounts as authorised
- To prepare cheques and BACS payments relating to rent refunds and refunds of housing benefit overpayments
- To record other rent bank account transactions within the financial management system on a timely basis
- To support the ordering of new and replacement payment cards
- To assist in the period end and period update procedures, including debit run
- To process fair rent for secured tenancy increases
- Promptly raise approved sales (debtor) invoices
- Promptly record debtor invoice receipts within the financial management system
- Take the appropriate follow-up action for any outstanding invoices in line with Group policies and procedures
- Record sales (debtor) invoice bank account transactions and support the maintenance of the Accounts Receivable ledger to ensure debtor details are correctly recorded
The Person
- You will have experience working within a finance team and be happy to be in a finance support role
- You will have an excellent level of IT literacy and proficiency
- You will be looking for full-time work and commitment to the full assignment is essential. This isn't a stop-gap role and only candidates that can fully commit will be considered
- An effective communicator, you will be well versed in working with people at all levels inside and outside of an organisation, able to explain complex concepts easily
- You must be commutable to Greater Manchester on a once-weekly basis
