SRG are currently working with a global and innovative business who have been producing speciality chemicals and additives for a range of diverse industries. The business is now looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join their Research & Development team in Greater Manchester. This role will involve designing and conducting compounding and polymer testing through the use of lab equipment such as extruders, injection moulding.

Benefits: You will join a global and innovative business at an exciting time for the company. 36.25 working hours per week, Monday - Friday with flexibility on start/finish times. 25 days holiday + 8 statutory days, pension scheme and company bonus.

Role Description

  • Design and execute polymer tests, manage application projects, and analyse data
  • Operate lab equipment such as extruders, moulders, mixers
  • Perform physical tests: viscosity, colour, rheology, mechanical
  • Troubleshoot, maintain lab instruments
  • Ensure raw material availability and manage sample dispatch from the lab
  • Collaborate with internal/external production sites and support cross-functional projects

Requirements

  • A degree in Chemistry (or similar) - both master's and bachelor's degrees accepted
  • Experience working in Polymer industry/ related
  • Strong attention to detail
