first teaching role for September 2024 in Manchester?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a qualified teacher of design technology to join a secondary academy in Manchester.

This is a full-time temporary teaching contract suitable for a design technology ECT to begin their ECT induction.

The Role

Teacher of Design Technology - Resistant Materials and Product Design to GCSE

Five days a week

Experience of teaching practical technology lessons, making use of the technology department's equipment for CAD /CAM, 3D printing and carpentry equipment.

Positive confident behaviour management skills to ensure safe practical lessons

Innovative teacher able to adapt lessons to the changing needs of students

The ability to teach other technology subjects including Food and Textiles to Key stage 3 would be beneficial.

The academy are interested in hearing from Early Career Teachers, experienced QTS teachers and further education carpentry or engineering specialists with experience of teaching DT to children aged 11 to 16.

  • Have completed a PGCE or SCITT and hold ECT status or QTS status
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK with no restrictions
