Teacher of English - Alternative Provision School (South Manchester)
Equitas is proud to be working with a specialist independent secondary school that provides high-quality education for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With learning centres across Manchester, the school is dedicated to fostering confidence in students and ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed academically and personally.
We are currently seeking a Teacher of English to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. This allows both the candidate and the school to ensure the role is the right fit before committing to a permanent position.
The Role:
- Deliver engaging and tailored English lessons to small class sizes
- Support students with SEMH needs, ensuring they feel valued and understood
- Focus on literacy and reading development, helping students build confidence in their abilities
- Work closely with a dedicated team to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Benefit from early finishes on Fridays
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in teaching reading and literacy (QTS is not essential)
- A strong understanding of how to support students with SEMH needs
- Experience working in an Alternative Provision setting is beneficial but not essential
- A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential
