Food Technology Teacher - Manchester - January start Are you a Qualified Teacher looking for your next teaching opportunity? Do you have experience teaching Food Technology? Prospero Teaching are looking for a QTS qualified Food Technology Teacher to work in a secondary school in Manchester on a full-time basis. The role will start in January and will be for 2 terms until the summer break, it is essential that you hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and that you are qualified to teach food technology to key stage 3 & 4 pupils. You will be expected to attend departmental meetings as well as parents evenings as and when required. The role is open to ECTs as well as full qualified teachers. Students really enjoy studying Food, especially the practical element of the subject. As part of their work with food, pupils will be taught how to cook and apply the principles of nutrition and healthy eating. The students will have a focus on healthy eat with an understanding of where food comes from. The students are taught through the concept of think, say, and do which is a helpful to understand the progress of the pupils. At GCSE the students are taught AQA. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location Manchester Position Food Technology Teacher Start date January 2025 Duration - 2 terms End date - July 2025 Full time Minimum rate of pay GBP162.31 per day Hours 8:30 am 4:00pm EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS QTS, QTLS, PGCE, GTP, SCITT or equivalent Previous experience teaching in a UK school Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide training) Up to date prevent Awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, we can provide training) Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, we can provide training) Recent food technology teaching experience in the UK TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide a minimum of two professional child related references Provide a full CV covering the last 10 years (including details regarding Secondary School education).
