History Teacher

We are currently seeking a History Teacher for a college located in Central South Manchester. This is a temporary ongoing contract position starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching three Lower Sixth groups, covering the AQA A Level specification with a focus on the Cold War and Britain.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and informative history lessons to Lower Sixth students, in line with the AQA A Level specification.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments for the Cold War and Britain units.
  • Monitor and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages discussion and critical thinking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the history department to enhance the curriculum and share best teaching practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching AQA A Level History, with a strong understanding of the specified units.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage sixth form students.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A commitment to high-quality education and student success.
